Your Options
Two paths after MagicINFO
Samsung's recommended path is its VXT platform. You can also choose any platform that supports the Samsung displays you already own.
Samsung's recommended path
Samsung VXT
- Samsung's cloud signage platform, with a hybrid option announced in 2025
- Samsung's CMS Transformer tool converts MagicINFO content, schedules and device settings into VXT
- VXT pricing lists CMS plans, with Remote Management functions included in the P and X Series or sold as separate plans
The independent alternative
MediaTile
- Keep your Samsung Tizen 4+ displays, and add any other brand
- No server to host and no MagicINFO licence
- One subscription with remote management included
- SOC 2 Type II, with content stored in the region that matches your organization
Why MediaTile
A MagicINFO alternative every stakeholder can sign off on
MediaTile is one platform on one codebase, designed, built and supported by our own in-house team for 25 years. Because we build everything ourselves, we can rapidly develop the integration a large network needs.
For IT and Security
- No server to host or patch. Cloud software on AWS; players connect outbound only, with no inbound firewall ports.
- SOC 2 Type II, no exceptions, and independent penetration testing with no critical or high-risk findings.
- SAML 2.0 single sign-on and enforced MFA with passkeys.
- Full audit trail you can export or feed to your SIEM.
For Communications
- Unlimited playlists, targeted your way. Target by location, tag or schedule, or use Player Location-Based Playlists (Enterprise) so one playlist with location placeholders serves many locations.
- Optional approval before playlists go live. Changed playlists automatically return for re-approval.
- Emergency alerts from official CAP feeds, targeted by location and translated into 22+ languages (Enterprise).
- Live data and automation. MagicINFO DataLink and Rule Sets users can move to MediaTile data feeds and Event Triggers.
For Operations
- Keep your Samsung displays and switch them over remotely wherever you grant access.
- Samsung display controls such as reboot, screen capture and firmware updates, without a MagicINFO server.
- Mixed fleets welcome. Samsung, LG webOS, BrightSign, Windows, Android and Linux in one platform.
- Tile AI flags problems early such as disk space, version drift and offline patterns (Enterprise).
Keep Your Samsung Displays
Everything you manage today, without the MagicINFO server
Point your Samsung displays at MediaTile through URL Launcher and keep managing them remotely, with the display controls your team relies on.
- Runs on Samsung Tizen 4 and newer displays, installed through URL Launcher.
- Keeps playing from local cache if the network drops.
- Older Samsung displays? Connect a supported external player such as Android, Fire Stick, Windows or BrightSign.
- No MagicINFO server and no MagicINFO licence required.
- The same MediaTile features on Samsung as on other supported players, plus Samsung display controls.
- Manage Samsung screens alongside LG webOS, BrightSign, Windows, Android and Linux players in one platform.
Samsung display controls in MediaTile
Included in your subscription, with no separate remote-management plan.
- Display status through CEC
- Trigger media
- Reboot
- Volume
- Screen capture
- Screen rotation (supported models)
- Remote software updates
- Scheduled screen off
- Time zone
- Firmware updates
- Screen off on command
Retire the Server
No more MagicINFO server to patch
MagicINFO On Premise runs on a server your team hosts, patches and protects. MediaTile is cloud software: there is no server on your network, and players connect outbound only.
MagicINFO 9 Server security record
- The US National Vulnerability Database lists 24 published vulnerabilities for MagicINFO 9 Server between August 2024 and April 2026. View on NVD
- CISA lists two of them as known to be exploited: CVE-2024-7399 and CVE-2025-4632. CISA added CVE-2025-4632 to its catalogue in May 2025 and CVE-2024-7399 in April 2026.
- Samsung has released fixes. If you still run MagicINFO, keep it fully patched and off the public internet until you move.
Playlists Your Way
The right content at every location
Create as many playlists as you need and group your players by location or any criteria you choose. Target content by tag with tag-based playlists or by time with Smart Scheduling. For campaigns that run across many locations, Player Location-Based Playlists (Enterprise) add a convenient option: one playlist with location placeholders.
- Unlimited playlists. Create and schedule as many as your network needs.
- Targeting your way by location, tag, player group or schedule.
- Optional Player Location-Based Playlists (Enterprise). Location placeholders let one playlist carry shared content everywhere, plus content that plays only at the locations you assign.

New in MediaTile V9
Enterprise controls built into MediaTile V9
MediaTile V9 has shipped 15 releases since May 2026, with general availability in June. These are the capabilities enterprise teams ask about most.
Tile AI fleet triage
Continuous anomaly triage across every player, watching disk space, version drift, playable content, sync errors, offline patterns and recovery state. When you ask Tile AI to take an action, its reply ends with an Action Ledger of what actually happened. Enterprise plan.
Management API for bulk rollout
Approve waiting players and assign playlists to individual players or whole groups through the API, so large deployments do not mean clicking through hundreds of screens.
Approval workflow
Playlists are flagged for re-approval whenever their content changes. Unpublished changes are clearly marked, and manual publishes are recorded in the audit log.
Version history and rollback
Compare and roll back versions in the Layout Designer, Smart Lists and AI widgets.
Soft delete and restore
Deleted items stop playing immediately but can be restored within a configurable retention window, 30 days by default.
Event triggers
Run actions automatically when data conditions change, an API check fires or an alert arrives, with optional date, time and weekday windows.
Emergency alerts
Official CAP feeds, per-location targeting with on/off controls, automatic translation into 22+ languages, and the most severe active alert takes priority. Enterprise plan.
Account security
SAML 2.0 single sign-on, passkeys, MFA you can require account-wide, password policies and automatic lockout of inactive accounts.
Network connectivity test
Check ping, WebRTC, upload and download performance against player devices from a web browser, for pre-deployment validation and remote-site triage.
AI Widgets
AI Content, AI Weather, AI Data and AI Embed. Describe what you need and AI Content creates it, ready to place in your layouts, with version history built in. Enterprise plan.
Layout Designer with animation
Build layouts, including multi-zone layouts, and bring them to life with a range of animations, using assets from your MediaTile library.
Bring your own assets
Create assets in the design tools your team already uses, or in Canva, and bring them into the MediaTile library for use in any layout.
Also included: Smart Scheduling and calendar scheduling, Express View for quick assignments and temporary overrides, Quick Broadcast, no-content detection, synced displays and video walls, live data from Sheets, Excel, CSV and SFTP, programmatic advertising with Hivestack and Vistar, two years of proof of play and WayMapper wayfinding (WCAG 2.2 Level AA).

Common Questions
Frequently asked questions: MediaTile as a MagicINFO alternative
Is MagicINFO end of life?
Samsung has announced end-of-life dates: End of Sale for MagicINFO On Premise on 31 December 2026, End of Service for MagicINFO Cloud on 28 February 2027 and End of Support for MagicINFO on 31 December 2029. See Samsung's roadmap.
Is Samsung MagicINFO free?
MagicINFO Server licences are sold per device through Samsung and its partners. Samsung lists End of Sale for MagicINFO On Premise on 31 December 2026.
How do I turn off MagicINFO on a Samsung display?
On Samsung signage displays, you choose the content source in the display's settings. To move to MediaTile, set the display to play from URL Launcher instead of MagicINFO. Our team can walk you through it, or switch displays remotely where you grant access.
What signage software is compatible with Samsung displays?
Samsung signage displays running Tizen can run third-party software through URL Launcher. MediaTile runs on Samsung Tizen 4 and newer displays this way, with no MagicINFO server or licence.
Can MediaTile replace MagicINFO DataLink and Rule Sets?
Yes. MediaTile's live data feeds (Google Sheets, Excel, CSV and SFTP) and Event Triggers cover the same needs: showing live data on screen and changing content automatically when conditions change.
How long does migration take?
Your free migration assessment gives you a written plan and timeline for your network. Where you grant remote access, we switch your screens for you, in groups at your pace, and they keep playing until they switch.
Can we keep our Samsung displays?
Yes. MediaTile runs on Samsung Tizen 4 and newer displays, installed through URL Launcher. No MagicINFO server or licence is needed, and your team keeps Samsung display controls such as reboot, volume, screen capture, scheduled screen off and firmware updates.
Do we have to move to Samsung VXT?
No. VXT is Samsung's recommended path, but you can choose any platform that supports your displays. MediaTile runs on Samsung Tizen 4 and newer and lets you manage Samsung screens alongside LG webOS, BrightSign, Windows, Android and Linux players.
Can MediaTile import our MagicINFO content?
Your images and videos move across. MagicINFO layouts are saved in Samsung's LFD format, which MediaTile cannot import, so your structure is rebuilt in MediaTile. On the Enterprise plan, Tile AI can build groups and playlists from a prompt, an image or a document such as a schedule export or a screenshot.
How do we switch without going dark?
Simply. Start with a free migration assessment, we help you set up, and then each Samsung display is switched to MediaTile through URL Launcher, remotely where you grant access. Your screens keep playing on MagicINFO until they switch.
Is our MagicINFO server a security risk?
MagicINFO 9 Server has had multiple published vulnerabilities, and CISA lists two of them (CVE-2024-7399 and CVE-2025-4632) as known to be exploited. Samsung has released fixes, so keep your server fully patched and off the public internet. MediaTile removes the server entirely.
What does the free migration assessment include?
We review your displays, content, schedules, data feeds and user structure, and give you a written report on what carries over to MediaTile and how the migration would run. There is no cost and no obligation.
Is MediaTile secure enough for our IT team?
Corum Digital Corporation, MediaTile's parent, holds a SOC 2 Type II report (Security) with an unqualified opinion and no exceptions, available under NDA with a bridge letter. Data is encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.2 or higher in transit, and independent penetration testing found no critical or high-risk issues. Players connect outbound only, so no inbound firewall ports are needed.
Where is our data stored?
On AWS. Your content is stored in the region that matches your organization: Canada Central for Canadian customers and US East for US customers. Account management and some metadata may be processed in either region. If you enable optional integrations or AI features, some processing may take place outside your home country, and AI can be switched off.
Do we need a separate playlist for every location?
Not unless you want one. You can create as many playlists as you need and target them by location, tag, player group or schedule. When one campaign runs across many locations, Player Location-Based Playlists on the Enterprise plan let a single playlist use location placeholders, so shared content plays everywhere and local content plays only where you assign it. That saves maintaining near-identical copies.
How is MediaTile priced?
MediaTile Enterprise is one annual subscription per display, with hosting, updates, remote management, Samsung display controls, remote support, unlimited training, unlimited users and unlimited storage included, and no setup fees. Contact us for a quote built around your network.
What support do enterprise customers get?
MediaTile is built and supported by our own in-house team. Enterprise customers reach a live support agent, and remote support and unlimited training are included with your subscription, during migration and after.
Is MediaTile available in French?
Yes. The MediaTile interface is available in English and French.
